EzGlaze Pergolas
EzGlaze is the thicker polycarbonate sheet, designed to look and feel like clear glass. It spans further and reads cleaner overhead than a standard polycarbonate roof.
I use it when I want light through the roof, rain off the table, and fewer posts in the middle of the deck.
What EzGlaze is
A polycarbonate roof sheet, thicker than the standard grade. Light comes through. Rain does not. The sheet reads closer to glass than a thin polycarbonate lid, and it will not crack like glass.
I put it on a timber or aluminium frame. Hardwood on most jobs. Aluminium is common when it is the better match to the house or the deck.
I can build outdoor BBQ and servery for you and fit ZipScreens to the pergola if you want the sides closed in.
When I use it
Long clear spans. Rooftops. A deck that needs a usable table without turning the space into a room.
The Mascot rooftop I rebuilt is the one to look at. EzGlaze over 7.2 metre clear spans, every sheet full span.
When I do not
If you only need light rain cover on a short span, standard polycarbonate is usually enough. If you want a solid roof and less heat through it, that is insulated panels, typically Versiclad. I will chat about the pro’s and con’s of each and recommend which roof I would use on your site.
Mascot rooftop — 7.2 m clear spans
A rooftop in Mascot, over a tenanted living room. I rebuilt the deck in Trex Transcend, then put the pergola on afterwards so they had a weatherproof zone.
EzGlaze polycarbonate. 7.2-metre clear spans, the trick is getting the 7m sheets on the roof of the roof, trade secret. Frame painted before the sheets went on.

Chifley — reverse EzGlaze
The garden at Chifley stepped up as you moved away from the house. A standard pergola would have sat too low at the front. So I installed a reverse EzGlaze pergola, with a box gutter at the house end to catch the runoff and feed it into the stormwater.

How I build one
A consultation at your place. I look at the span, the fixings back to the house or the footings, sun, and how you actually want to use the space. Then I write a fixed price and a full scope.
I build it myself. Footings or connections, frame, roof, flashings, and the last fix.
